About This Painting
Glasshouse Study-2 is an original painting from Norah Kennedy’s Glasshouse series — geometric art rooted in Ireland’s tradition of botanical architecture, reinterpreted through layered planes of colour and dissolving structure.
This second study begins, like all works in the series, with careful drawing and perspective. But where precise lines are laid down, colour gradually takes over — dissolving the architectural framework into something more ambiguous and felt. Botanical forms surface only in fragments: a leaf edge here, a stem implied there. Growth is suggested rather than depicted, and what remains is the memory of form rather than its description.
The Glasshouse Series
The Glasshouse series is among Norah Kennedy’s most sustained bodies of work — an ongoing investigation into the boundary between the geometric and the organic, between the constructed and the living. A glasshouse holds plants within a framework of glass and steel; this series holds colour and botanical reference within a framework of line and plane.
Each work in the series is different in palette, composition, and mood, but all share a quality of suspended animation — as though caught at the moment before full resolution.
Original Botanical Geometric Art
Glasshouse Study-2 suits interiors that appreciate subtlety and process — it is a painting that reveals more over time. Ideal for garden rooms, reading spaces, kitchens, or living areas where a sense of nature and geometry can coexist.
Unique original artwork, hand-painted in the artist’s Irish studio. Ready to hang. Certificate of authenticity included.
